Newborn and Baby Care
Are You Expecting a New Baby?
If you are, Advanced Pediatric Associates would like to offer you our warmest congratulations! This is an exciting time for you and your family. The staff at Advanced Pediatric Associates would like to offer you the following services to help ensure that the arrival of your new baby goes as smoothly as possible:
Free Prenatal Visit
If this is your first baby or you are new to our practice, you may call our central appointment line to schedule a free prenatal visit with one of our physicians. These free visits offer expectant parents the opportunity to interview one of our physicians and learn more about our practice.
Hospital Visit
If you will deliver your baby at Medical Center of Aurora, Rose Medical Center, Parker Adventist Hospital or Sky Ridge Medical Center, let your obstetrician know that you would like one of our physicians to visit your new baby in the hospital. One of our physicians will thoroughly examine your baby, discuss any questions you might have, and present you with our "New Arrival" booklet outlining new baby care recommendations from our staff.
If you will deliver your baby at a hospital other than those listed above, a hospital staff pediatrician will examine your baby in the hospital. Upon discharge from the hospital, we will schedule a longer first visit at one of our offices to ensure plenty of time to thoroughly examine your baby and answer any questions you might have.
First Office Visit
The providers at Advanced Pediatric Associates would like to see your new baby within three days after you are discharged from the hospital. Please call our central appointment line as soon as you are given a discharge date to schedule your baby's first office visit.
Well Child Visits
Your new baby needs routine well care and immunizations to maximize health and prevent illness. Please call our central appointment line to schedule well child care visits at the ages shown below (* indicates routine immunizations). When scheduling your baby's 6, 12 or 18 month well care visit, please download and complete the appropriate developmental screening questionnaire found on the well care page of this website and bring to your baby's visit.
