Is Your Child Sick?
When your child is sick, we know you want quick answers to questions you may have!
We recommend the following steps to seeking appropriate pediatric medical care and advice whenever your child is sick:
FIRST: Check the "Illness and Symptoms" advice provided in the pull down menu below. Patients find that this information provides quick and convenient access to information regarding common illness and injuries, including home care advice and guidelines for when your child may need an appointment.
NEXT: If you still have questions or would like to make an appointment, please call our Patient Care Line at 303-699-6200 to schedule an appointment or speak with one of our registered nurses.
AFTER HOURS: Many after hours questions can be answered by visiting the "Illness and Symptoms" pull down menu below. If you need additional assistance after normal business hours, our physicians work with The Children's Hospital After Hours Service. To reach our after hours service, please call our Patient Care Line at 303-699-6200. Our answering service will take your name, phone number and other important information and have one of the registered nurses at The Children's Hospital return your call as soon as possible. These nurses will help evaluate the situation and make recommendations for medical care. When medically appropriate, these nurses will forward messages to our on call physician.
ONLINE PEDIATRIC HEALTH CARE ADVICE: Advanced Pediatric Associates provides on-line health care advice to our patients via nationally recognized pediatric protocols provided by Pediatric Web and written by Barton Schmitt, M.D. (Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Medical Director of the After-Hours Call Center at The Children's Hospital of Denver). If you are not a patient of Advanced Pediatric Associates, we recommend that you consult with your own physician regarding health concerns. This information is provided as a guide to our patients, but in no way replaces the advice given by our staff. Occasionally, advice given by our providers or nurse advice line may vary slightly from that offered by Pediatric Web in the menu below. If you are unsure of any issue regarding your child's health, please call our Patient Care Line at (303) 699-6200.
