Handling Stressful Situations with your Child Effectively

On some days, disciplining your children seems to go smoothly; on other days, it seems to be a complete disaster. If you are at your wit's end, tired, and literally ready to scream take a moment to catch your breath. Sometimes parents need a “time out” too. Often frustration comes from kids arguing against a request you have made. Sometimes stating that you are finished discussing the issue and then walking away is the best answer. If needed, you can return in 5 – 10 minutes to readdress if the situation has not improved.
