Making Morning Struggles More Enjoyable

Preparation is the key to making morning struggles more enjoyable. Try getting organized for the following day the night before – lay out clothes, pack lunch and organize backpacks so that they are ready to go. Set a reasonable bedtime so that kids will get enough sleep. Make sure you wake your children up with plenty of time to get ready and eat breakfast. Sometimes an extra 15 minutes in the morning makes a huge difference in a child’s attitude. If your child is old enough, consider getting an alarm clock so that the alarm, rather than you, tells your child it is time to get up. Sit down together for breakfast so there are a few minutes to talk before you start your day. If you are calm and not rushed, chances are your children won’t be either.
